A Chequered past.
Punch Taverns, installed a caretaker manager in February 2010, after a brief closure, then on Thursday 18th March 2010 we welcomed new managers:

Ian and Anne Benison

In conjuction with the owners, Ian and Ann embarked on a "facelift" and the pub was completely refurbished inside and out by June and we had a pub which began to attract many more customers - so much so that the care park was often full to overflowing.

Then came the bad news that Ian and Anne would be leaving for health reasons, and we sadly said goodbye to them in early August, many villagers turning out to wish them every success in the future with a toast and with cards and presents.
